Gomez Holds Huge Lead – 05/02/2017 – 00:15

After nine levels of play the biggest ever Day two in GUKPT history is now in the books. We started with a massive 154 entries, but it was fast and furious in the early levels. Losing half the field in the first two levels. The play continued at a fast pace which included the bubble.

The bubble would last just one hand where Jeff Kimber called off with pocket kings which couldn’t hold against the A-J of Ross Boatman who rivered an ace, Jeff left empty handed as our bubble boy.

We had ten exits then in the last level of play, so the 30 remaining players will be guaranteed at least £2,600 when they come back tomorrow.

On a queen high all club flop Ross Boatman gets his short stack all in and is looked up by Khoa Le.

Ross tables Ace-Queen for top pair top kicker and will nee to fade clubs as Khoa tables A-10 with the Ace of clubs.

The river card a CLUB!!

Khoa takes the pot with a flush and now has 440,000!!

We get to the table where there is a huge three way all in!!

David Pedro is the short stack with 60,000 all in, holding he is up against the of big stack Daniel Barriocanal and also in the hand we have Sam Meeuse all in for 160,000 with the pre flop nuts !!

Sam makes top set to take both pots, he now has just short of 400,000.

Daniel takes a small dent to his stack but still has around half a million.

Good afternoon and welcome back to the Poker Room in London for the second day of the GUKPT Main Event.

From the 435 entries we have a massive 154 players coming back to play another nine levels of play. We’re looking forward to what should be a fantastic days play with some great names coming back.

Paul Romain leads the way after finishing yesterday with 180,000 which is good for the chip lead. Chi Zhang is in second place, who finished Day 1a as chip leader from that day.
