Charlton Leads Final 20 – 04/03/2017 – 00:05

After another nine levels of play, Day 2 is now in the books, it’s been as we expected a fantastic day of poker. It started with a bang, as we lost 40 players in the first two levels. We’d then steadily lose players until we reached the bubble.

The bubble lasted only a few hands before Sanjay Patel lost a race to Andy Hills and went home empty handed.

The players then played one more level, where six players bit the dust to leave us with our final 20 players.

The final 20 are led by Dan Charlton who came second in this very event, way back in 2011, will he be able to go one better tomorrow? All players are guaranteed at least £2,400, with the winner taking home £75,550… Full chip counts of the remaining players are:

Daniel Charlton 706500
Tuan Le 683500
Peter Hytner 662000

The five players go to the flop as it comes Four players check to John Mooney who moves all in for 30,300… Mulla gets out of the way, Ben Winsor calls, Stuart McNally also calls creating a pot of over 100k!! Warburton gets out of the way and the three players see the turn card….

The turn card comes Check check from Ben & Stuart.

River Check, check again… It’s an all in so all cards must be shown…

Stuart shows for queen high.

John – for a pair of jacks

Ben tables :10s for top pair which is good to take the pot and increase Bens stack to 200k.

Unlucky for George as he heads out of the tournament as we now have 49 player remaining.

Apologies To Warburton – 04/03/2017 – 18:50

I have to personally apologise to Steve Warburton for telling him the dinner break was an hour long and not 45 minutes.

He was late back from the break and is blaming myself, so sorry about that.

It’s not stopping Warburton staking chips though as he is now over the 200k mark, which will make him one of the favourites with 50 players remaining.

Very unlucky for Kassouf who now heads back down south.

Chris shows for the flopped flush!
Kev turns over for the nut flush draw with an over pair.

The river card !!

Welcome To Day 2 – 04/03/2017

Good afternoon and welcome back to GUKPT Manchester for Day 2. The two day one fields combine today as we have 116 players coming back to play another nine levels.

A great turnout for this event with 268 entries, which means the winner will take home a massive £75,550!!

There is no runaway chip leader going into today, with local player Paul Harman leading the way with 113,000 which is a very low chip lead. Although I am sure he won’t be complaining.

Chip counts coming back are 500/1000 with a 100 ante.

We will be here with you for the duration of play, bringing you live updates, chip counts, exits and hands from the tables. Our live stream will also be running on a 30 minute delay with all hole cards shown.
