Final Hand & Interviews – 05/03/2016 – 00:10

Goodbye From Manchester – 05/03/2017 – 00:17

Well what can we say other than WOW! Manchester has been a great event, with the main event exceeding all expectation, a massive 268 entries turned out to create a huge prizepool.

The even as always ran like clockwork for the four days that the main event has been on and has eventually been won Grosvenorpoker.com online passport winner Andy Hills!

We came back with 20 players today all with their eyes on the first place prize of £75,550.

It only took a few hours for 11 players to bust and we would be left with our finalists, and what a line up it was.

The final started with a bang and we lost short stack Ben Jackson straight away. All in with pocket jacks, they couldn’t hold against the of Justin Devonport. Ben would collect £5,400 for his short final table appearance.

We then played for over two hours before we lost our next player. Liam Hooks five betting all in from the big blind but was looked up by Endrit Geci in the small blind who had the goods. Gecis pocket kings would stand up against the tens of Liam, which would send Hooks out in 8th for £6,400.

Local legend and everyones favourite for this tournament Dan Charlton would leave in 7th place. He got it all in ahead holding pocket tens against the pocket fives of Mark Dyson. A five had been folded, but Dyson still found the only live five on the turn to send Dan to the bar. 7th place was good for a cash of £8,050 for Dan.

Justin Devonport who probably had the biggest support on the rail couldn’t win a flip against Mark Dyson which would cripple Justin. He held and couldn’t connect with the board against the tens of Mark. Despite playing ten GUKPT Manchester main events this was the first one Justin had cashed in at Bury New Road. 6th would get him a cheque for £10,200. Almost giving him his buy ins back.

The quiet man with a steel stare was the next player to leave the final, short stacked he shoved with and was dominated when Geci called with Ace-Jack. Mark missed the board and hit the rail in 5th place for £13,650.

All the money was then chopped ICM style:

Andrew Hills 1566000 £46,987
Mark Dyson 1475000 £45,899
Endrit Geci 1388000 £44,808
Tuan Le 932000 £38,104

With no money to play for the game turned into a shove fest where we would lose, Endri Geci in 4th & then Mark Dyson in 3rd.

Heads up didn’t last long either with Tuan Le shoving on Andy with just queen high when Andy had a flush. Tuan finished in 2nd place.

The trophy went to the man who wanted it most and probably deserved it, Andy rarely put a foot wrong on the final table and thoroughly deserves his win. After winning the GrosvenorPoker.com Passport where he plays every main event this year for FREE, he has already turned it into over £48,000!!

That’s it from us again, on another successful GUKPT Leg, thanks for interacting whether it’s been on social media or our stream which had great viewers this week. We will be back in just over three weeks time for another main event. It’s the first £500 leg of the tour and it’s up North in Edinburgh. If you haven’t been try and win a satellite on Grosvenorpoker.com they’re running all the time. However if you’re not there then please tune in.

Until next time, be lucky.

Tuan now has a commanding chip lead going into three handed.

Tuan Le New Chip Leader – 05/03/2017 – 23:10

No money to play for now, Tuan Le moves all in and is called by Andy Hills.
