The second and final day one of the GUKPT Walsall Main Event is now in the history books.
We started today at 1pm, with 65 entries and after six levels of late registration we had 154 entries in total. Creating a £119,000 prizepool and 238 entries over the two days of buy ins.
It’s been another great day played in great spirits here in Walsall. Every table has been in use for the whole day.
Of the 154 entries we have 52 who have made it through.
Chris Taylor leads the way with a massive stack of over 200k, he will go into Day 2 as the overall chip leader.
We will be back tomorrow for Day 2, tomorrow where we have 79 players coming back to play another nine levels, or down to the final table.
Play will begin at 1pm with the live stream beginning at 1:30pm.

Matt Jones opens pre flop from early position and is called by Jeff Kimber & Dean Swift. Action then comes to Esmaeil Jahanpour in the big blind who ships the lot in!! Moving all in for his 15k stack. Matt goes into the tank, before also moving all in…. Jeff folds. Dean also folds and shows
Esmaeil didn’t want to see that as he shows against the of Matt.

Rob finds a Queen on the turn to felt Kassouf and send him out of the tournament.

Good afternoon and welcome back to Walsall for the second and final day one of the GUKPT Walsall Main Event.
Yesterday was a very successful day. A 10% increase on last years numbers with 84 entries in total over the 6 levels of late registration.
Today we will be playing another nine levels, mirroring what we played yesterday. The tournament is a £500 buy in with a £100,000 guarantee. For their buy in, players will receive 20,000 chips played on a 60 minute clock. Late registration will be open for the first six levels of play, which brings us to 8:15pm.
We’ll be with you for the duration of play, bringing you live hands, chip counts, exits and a live stream running on a 30 minute delay, with all hole cards shown.
Play begins at 1pm today.
