After 12 levels of play, the third and final day one of the UKSPC 2017 Main Event is in the history books. It’s been another fantastic days poker played in great spirits.
Today we were expecting big numbers to hit the 1000 entry mark, but we came up short with 317 entries in total over the six levels of late registration. That still give us a huge 917 entries in total for this years main event.
75 players have finished the day and the counts are very flat. Jake Barclay leads the way with a stack of 175,000. Full chip counts are:
We will be back tomorrow for Day 2 where we will be playing another 12 levels.
We have 169 players coming back to play for the prizepool of £27,510.

The last level today is absolutely nothing like the last level of the last two day ones.
A lot of the players seem to have locked up to try and hold onto their chips to make Day Two.

At the moment there are 80 entries!! Which is full!! I’m sure there is also a waiting list for players who will get in where there is room.
Joe Beevers and Jeff Kimber are also playing in the tournament with bounties on their head. If you manage to knock them out you will receive a £120 entry in the 2017 Goliath.

The players are now playing the last session of play. The last three levels of Day one play.
Today won’t be as mental as the past two days because players cannot re-enter if they bust, so there will be a lot less gambling. That being said there is still 150 players remaining which is about a third of todays field. We should see that drop to around 80 before players bag and tag their chips.

Over 240 students sat down playing Day 1C, then as soon as one player busts out of the tournament they are replaced with a new player from the alternates list.

Welcome to Day 1c – 21/04/2017 – 12:10
Good afternoon and welcome back to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry for the third and final day one of the UK Student Poker Championships.
The event has been well attended so far with 546 entries from the two previous day ones. Today we will hopefully break the 1000 entries mark!
The tournament is a £30+£6 buy in with 6 levels of late registration. For your buy in, you’ll receive 15,000 chips on a 40 minute clock, played on the GUKPT structure. Players will play 12 levels today, with breaks after every three levels.
Of the 546 entries 94 have made it through so far with Minh Nguyen leading the way, she bagged up a very impressive 288,400 yesterday.
We will be here with you for the duration of play today, bringing you chip counts, pictures, exits and of course the live stream running on a thirty minute delay with all hole cards shown.
It should be a fantastic days poker and we’re expecting it to be extremely busy!
