Angell of the North – Record breaking Leeds leg crowns latest GUKPT champion
Media Release: Tuesday 17th September 2019
2019 GUKPT Leeds came to a conclusion last night as UK Poker regular Brett Angell took down the record breaking field at Grosvenor Casino Westgate, Leeds. An impressive 382 entries in the GUKPT Leeds Main Event meant it was the biggest field in GUKPT Leeds history. The impressive £191,000 prizepool saw the final six players making a 6 way deal and play on for the coveted trophy.
Notwithstanding his years of playing experience, Angell had his work cut out for him when he found himself heads up against UK phenomenon Richard Kellett. After a tense and highly competitive battle, ultimately Angell’s Jack Ten outflopped the Ace Three of Kellett to give him the victory and the title of GUKPT champion
