Grosvenor Casinos’ Goliath is ready to make poker history yet again

The ten-day poker festival starts in a week’s time with the first event kicking off on Thursday 25th July at the iconic Grosvenor Casino Coventry in the Ricoh Arena.

Goliath is home to the largest live poker tournament outside of the U.S.A, the Goliath Main Event, with the first of the seven day 1s taking place on Saturday 27th July. The £100+25 buy-in tournament is expected to exceed last year’s record of 7,584 entries, edging the total prizepool ever closer to the magical £1,000,000 mark. Grosvenor Casinos is proud to announce the return of the guaranteed first prize of £100,000 which debuted in 2018 – an incredible amount for a relatively small buy-in tournament.

Grosvenor Casinos is extremely excited to see all loyal Goliath supporters as well as welcoming many new faces. There are some big names expected throughout the ten days including boxing legend, David Haye, who has been working on his poker game throughout the last year, with his sights firmly set on taking down the Goliath.

Players can win their seat to Goliath for as little as 25p by taking advantage of the feeders and direct satellites taking place every day on Grosvenorpoker.com. There are still over 350 x £125 Goliath Main Event seats to be won – 100 of which are guaranteed in this Sunday’s Super Satellite at 7pm.

This year’s line-up also includes over 15 other poker tournaments, with something to suit every poker player’s tastes and bankrolls. Players can join in on the fun of the Tag Team, Joker is Wild, Win the button and Flip ‘n’ Go events or perhaps something a little more serious with the £50,000 Guaranteed 25/50, 4/5/6 Omaha or Super High Roller events.

2019 also sees the return of the Grosvenor Casinos’ U.K. Women’s Poker Championship (GUKWPC), which broke the record for the largest women’s poker tournament in the U.K with over 200 runners last year. Also back on the schedule in 2019 is the Grosvenor Casinos U.K. Masters Poker Championship (GUKMPC) for all poker aficionados over the age of 50.

It wouldn’t be a poker festival without some serious cash action and players wishing to dabble in some cash poker at Goliath will certainly not be disappointed. Last year during peak times Grosvenor Casino Coventry were running 40 cash games simultaneously, a record expected to be broken this year.
