Victory for Vikrum – GUKPT crowns latest champ with £80k payday
The dust has settled after a tremendous week of poker at Grosvenor Casino Luton. 307 entries to the GUKPT Luton Main Event meant a bumper prizepool of £307,000 with over £200,000 in prizes to the top ten finishers alone.
Sales manager Vikrum has racked up quite a list of poker results over the years but now with a GUKPT title under his belt, his name will be one to watch on the U.K. poker scene.
With previous winners such as Priyan De Mel, Yiannis Liperis and Driton Haxhiaj all in attendance Vikrum certainly had his work cut out for him. Heads up he faced off against formidable opponent and GUKPT regular Andrew “Stato” Hulme. U.K. Poker professional, Hulme, already has a GUKPT Main Event trophy on his mantelpiece after securing a victory at the GUKPT London in 2018. Luckily for Vikrum, Hulme would ultimately fall one place short of a second title.
